ABOUT UPPERFIELD FARM

Upperfield Farm comprises six adjoining self-catering holiday rental properties that were once farm buildings. They overlook Carsington Reservoir, spanning 300 hectares of stunningly beautiful still water abundantly cloaked in trees and trails.

In the past, every stone building on the farm had a distinct purpose, serving as a cowshed, a farmhouse, and more. Over time, we’ve transformed these buildings into modern accommodation that retain their original charm and characteristics, providing a comfortable stay for guests.

OUTDOOR PURSUITS

Upperfield Farm is located on the edge of Carsington Reservoir and is wrapped by spectacular circular walks and bike trails to suit every ability – from one to eight miles. On your route, you pass the stunning dam, Bronze Age stones, and wooden sculptures – while being surrounded by nature.

You can hire bikes, do a spot of twitching, catch fish, ride a horse, play in the park, or dabble in water sports. All these outdoor pursuits are available on the reservoir site. Additionally, we’re on the edge of the Peak District National Park, giving you plenty of options to enjoy the great outdoors.

A BASE TO EXPLORE

Upperfield Farm is a fantastic base for exploring Derbyshire. In less than 30 minutes, you can drive to the popular tourist towns of Matlock and Bakewell. A shorter drive, and you’re in Ashbourne or Belper – great places to grab a bite to eat or browse around the shops.

Additionally, the historic and spectacular Chatsworth House can be reached in around 40 minutes by car. Or if walking is your passion, you’re around 30 minutes from Thorpe Cloud, the Tissington Trail, and Dovedale’s famous stepping stones.
